Brief

At last! I'm staring down the barrel of a few days off, thank you Lord, and not a minute too soon. The few slow moments lately have been spent writing (both my own fun stuff and the upcoming article on neurology and emotion), planning events for the end of summer heat, and working finishing the wine rack and doing some work on mom's house, and stuff some friends. Been a while since I've done home repair/improvement work for anyone. Hell, I think last time I did that stuff was, oh... back in '08 and '09, when I was over at Becca's house doing stuff for her. Had to upgrade from some of my dad's old power tools, though. Felt kinda sad about that, but hey, what can ya do?

I'm still exhausted and everything, but I promised pictures of the wine rack when it was finished, so here goes:
Not an easy thing to build, not in the least! But I'm pleased with the results.

Anyway, fall is shaping up to hold some awesome travel. Might make up for missing Fantasy Fest last year (though I admit the party I was at last Halloween was pretty damned good, and the friends and my date made up for any difference, lol.) Going to Charleston a couple of times at least, might even make it a more regular trip. If nothing else, I don't care WHAT happens, I'm going to visit Estonia later this year. It has been too long since I've walked those unknown yet familiar, comfortable streets, breathed the air, enjoyed the culture.

A little humor:
That one struck home for me and several friends!

Here's a toast to a few days of, I pray, rest. All the best, loyal R&C!
