On the Topic of my Cellar

For those of you who don't know me, I keep a modest but luxuriously stocked wine collection. Which is a little bit hilarious, if you stop to think that some folks before have tried to pick on me for having no taste in wines. Little did they know! I like wines, and champagne even moreso, but I like the good stuff. At the moment I'd say 90% of my wine stock is stuff you couldn't buy at your average store. And even if you go to the type of store where you can buy these, assuming you can find some of the rarer vintages and reserves, you'd pay a fortune for them. Me? To enjoy them is also to share them, when the time is right.

I keep my supply of reds and whites of various varietals and vintages, and champagne as well, the mother of which are two têtes de cuvée. For those who don't know what that means, the rough translation would be 'top of (the) class.' It's what Dom Pérignon is to Moët & Chandon, what Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is to Taittinger. In other words, the best stuff. Well, in addition to those I keep one special bottle of tête de cuvée champagne, a presentation bottle, vintage, boxed, for a special occasion. Yes, it's that important to me. It won't be opened, if ever by me at all, until the day I'm opening it to share with the perfect person.

And yes... I somehow just equated luxury champagne with romance. Or at least saving it for such things. Hate me if you want, I'm the romantic type.
