Oof.

I'm not sure if my body hates me because I go on vacation, or because I come home from vacation, but I know this for sure: I hate head colds. Thank God I don't have to deal with this more often. Seriously, people... swine flu, bird flu, yada yada. Good grief, does nobody pay attention to the fact that the normal, old-fashioned every-year flu does more damage than all the trendy ones?

Random news: Fuck Adele. Enough already.

More random news: The Occutards, shutting down a shipping port? Sorry, you've cost everyone enough already. Freedom of speech I believe in. Freedom of speech that everyone has to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to put up with? I don't remember that one from constitutional law.

Quote: "Patience is both the greatest ally, and the greatest weapon, in the hands of a mind that knows how to use them."

Incidentally, anybody been watching American Horror Story? I don't know about how scary it is, but definitely screwed up, to say the least.

Anyway, here's the goings-on. Vacation was full of unexpected surprises, a few massive failures by some people to pick good places to go, and one set of awesome luck when it came to monsoons. While there, I was introduced to a new sparkling wine that is virtually unknown in the US. The family that founded it first brought it here only a few months back, and only regionally. I'm hoping to secure the rights to distribute it in the southeast. I admit, it was surprising to me, as I was drinking a good Moet & Chandon champagne at the time, and this unknown prosecco, of all damned things, beat the tar out of it on a blind taste. Wouldn't have seen that coming. I brought a Jeroboam of it back with me, and am looking forward to introducing it to some friends soon.

A few pics from the trip:

This is what you call someone who put time and effort into perfecting their costume...

Okay, the scientific side of me knows that this is NOT technically the southernmost point, but hey... get to play tourist for the day.

The guys from my suite in college finally managed to get together for a while, for the first time in two or three years. Austin, Irish, me and Tracy. Suite 106: Motto? It's a miracle we ever survived a year, much less the whole time.

Final news for the night... I have had a chance to have a few interesting debates and conversations lately, on some very interesting topics. Got a chance to discuss the moral perspectives of WWII, that one got a little heated with folks, but can't dispute passion. Tonight, though, I got to delve into topics I don't get to discuss much: Quantum physics, the mulitverse, and even quantum suicide. I think I gave my friend Tasha a headache trying to explain that last one, but God was it fun to get into stuff that deep. I miss getting to discuss the intellectual topics these days! Guess I'm going to have to visit Japan sometime soon.

Ah well, that about wraps it up for the moment. Have a good night, loyal R&C.
